I've recently been assessing my use of time. I am never bored and find it difficult to sit still, even to watch a movie. Too much of my time is spent online and I hate that. (I reserve hate for special situations and this is one of them.) I advocate for people to spend more time outside acually living life and here I sit at a computer. I put a lot of effort into blogging and it eats up my time. I need more time to read, save our front yard wildflowers from the landlord's mower, raise three chickens, dumpster dive, cook all of my food, tend two gardens, and bike with friends. This do-it-yourself lifestyle is very time consuming and I no longer have time to blog. So, here is one final entry from me. I'll be back. Maybe in a few years, or a few decades. I really love blogging, I just need more time!

How has my summer been? Well, our chickens are finally laying regularly. Ethel was such a grouch to Indie that Indie stopped laying. My friend who lives a few blocks away has chickens in his backyard too. On Tuesday, my friend Emily went with me to swap hens. I put some straw in the bottom of a picnic basket, caught Ethel, put her in the basket, and closed the flaps. I biked (barefoot, wearing a skirt, with the basket on my arm) to my friend's house hoping Ethelwouldn't be too uncomfortable that she felt the need to BAWK! No worries. She was quiet. We picked out another hen there that is the same breed as Lily, the hen in my header. The next morning: brown egg in the nest! The morning after: TWO eggs in the nest! One blue, one brown.
Our garden is coming along very nicely. The corn is waist high. Our pumpkin plants are full of flowers and the hops have reached the upstairs windows. The potatoes, beets, and kohlrabi are growing like mad. Our tomato and pepper plants have babies on them too.
The community garden I'm tending is coming along wonderfully and I will still be blogging there. You can find the link on the right hand side. It's called *Heal the Soil.*
No pictures this time. I have misplaced my camera...
Thanks for following me on my journey. I enjoyed your comments!
